PCP General Secretary Paulo Raimundo insisted on Friday on the right to retire without penalty after 40 years of work and contributions, reaffirming his defence of the 7.5% increase in all reforms and pensions in Portugal.
“Forty years of work, 40 years of contributions, that’s more than enough to be eligible for a pension without any penalty,” said Paulo Raimundo at the end of a lunch at the Commission for Pensioners, Retirees and the Elderly of Póvoa de Santo Adrião, in the municipality of Odivelas.
In front of dozens of pensioners and pensioner activists, who interrupted their party’s general secretary several times by shouting “PCP”, Raimundo insisted on this idea, which, although not new, he considers fair.
