Three pregnant women were transferred from Lores Hospital to private wards over the weekend

Three pregnant women were transferred over the weekend from the Beatriz Angelo Hospital in Loures to private units, according to data from the National Institute of Emergency Medicine (INEM) released to Lusa on Tuesday.

The data show that two pregnant women were referred on Saturday and one pregnant woman on Sunday, who were taken to private hospitals with which the National Health Service (SNS) has a protocol, namely CUF, Luz and Lusíadas, in Lisbon.

In contact with Lusa, representatives of the local health unit of Loures-Odivelas, which is part of the Beatriz Angelo Hospital, explained that three pregnant women were transferred to private hospitals, “to meet the need to manage vacancies in the SNS.” [Serviço Nacional de Saúde]”.

Five emergency gynecology and obstetrics services were closed over the weekend, most of them in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo.

According to the emergency schedules published on the SNS portal, this Monday at 2:45 p.m. five emergency services remain closed, namely: São Bernardo Hospital in Setúbal, Nossa Senhora do Rosário Hospital in Barreiro, São Francisco Xavier Hospital in Lisbon, das Caldas da Rainha Hospital and Santo André Hospital in Leiria.

This week, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday will be the days with the most closures for gynecology emergency rooms (seven in total).

The Santa Maria hospital in Lisbon and the Garcia de Horta hospital in Almada will also only accept the cases mentioned, that is, those reserved for internal emergencies, cases referred by the Patient Emergency Centres (CODU) of the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) and through the SNS 24 line.
