The additional budget of the Assembly of the Republic was approved this Friday, with Chega abstaining, and will include an additional 7.5 million euros carried over from the previous budget.

Parliament spent less money than expected in 2022, according to the Assembly of the Republic Service, and this amount is now included in the supplementary budget for 2023, bringing total spending and revenues up from $128.8 million to $136.3 million.

This amount of 7.5 million will be divided into several headings, as Luce explained in Parliamentary Services, namely an increase in personnel costs of approximately 365 thousand euros (due to increased public administration), as well as an increase in the “plafond”. ‘ for the remuneration relating to the offices of parliamentary groups and individual deputies in the amount of 600 thousand euros, in connection with the update of the Social Assistance Index (IAS) for 2023.

For the payment of subsidies to parties associated with the election campaigns already held, another 1.3 million euros and another 2.5 million fees carried over from the previous year, that is, spending processes not yet completed, are included in the budget.

According to the parliamentary service, there is still a pre-allocation of capital in the amount of 800 thousand euros and a preliminary allocation of 1.7 million euros, an amount that has not yet been allocated.
