A man suspected of domestic violence, whose son reported him to the PSP for attacking his mother, will await the completion of the process in preventive detention, the Santarém District Command announced this Monday.
According to a press release from the PSP Santarem District, agents arrested the man red-handed at 5:40 a.m. Sunday for the crime of domestic violence. What CM found out, A 53-year-old woman was thrown from her bed onto the floor and attacked with a kitchen knife by her husband while she slept.
The couple’s son alerted PSP: “With the assistance of the couple’s son, who was able to stop the suspect’s aggression toward the victim before police arrived,” agents “immediately proceeded to arrest the suspect at the scene of the crime.”
The victim required hospitalization, but his life was not in danger.
The suspect was held in PSP facilities and this Monday he was presented to the investigating judge during his first interrogation at the Santarém Court of Justice, who ordered the compulsory preventive detention measure.
