Five Memphis police officers in the United States of America charged with the murder of young black Tyre Nichols pleaded not guilty at a court hearing this Friday.
The meeting was attended by Nichols’ parents and lawyer, according to the English TV channel. BBC news.
Video of Tyrone Nichols being fatally beaten by five police officers in Memphis, Tennessee, USA, sparked protests in several cities across the United States of America. Hundreds of people came out to protest in New York, Atlanta, Washington and Detroit.
The Memphis police chief dismantled the unit to which the agents who filmed the attacks on the young man, who died three days later in hospital, belonged.
