According to information published at 8am on the National Health Service (SNS) website, four emergency departments in obstetrics and gynaecology will be closed this Monday.
The obstetrics and gynecology emergency department at the São Bernardo Hospital in Setúbal, as well as at the Dr. Manoel Constancio Hospital in Abrantes and the District Hospital das Caldas da Rainha, have been closed.
According to the same source, the emergency obstetrics department at Portimao Hospital has also been closed.
As for pediatric emergency care, in Viseu the extra care service is available from 20:15 to 23:00, while in Amadora-Sintra Hospital it is open from 8:00 to 20:00 and is available at night.
The Amadora Sintra Hospital also has an Obstetrics and Gynecology Emergency Department, which operates from 8:00 PM to midnight and is open throughout the day. Still in the Lisbon region, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Emergency Department at the San Francisco Xavier Hospital operates from 12:00 AM to 9:00 AM.
Emergency obstetric care at Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon and emergency obstetric-gynaecological care at Garcia de Orta Hospital in Almada have been transferred to CODU/INEM.
The units indicated mean that the services are reserved for internal emergencies or are referred by the Patient Emergency Centre (CODU) of the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM) or via the SNS 24 line.
In total, four emergency situations were closed this Monday, four were mentioned (with restrictions) and two were mentioned by CODU/INEM. 163 emergency departments were opened.
