Bank’s valuation has increased by 20 euros in a month

The average bank valuation of housing in July was 1,638 euros per square metre (m2), up 7.4% year-on-year and 20 euros (1.2%) compared to June, the National Statistics Institute (INE) reported yesterday. The most intense monthly fluctuations were recorded in Madeira (16.7%), with no region recording a decrease. Some 32,600 valuations were carried out in July.

The median bank appraisal value of apartments was 1818 euros/m2, while increased by 7.1% compared to July 2023. The highest values ​​were observed in Greater Lisbon (2,410 euros/m2) and the Algarve (2,184 euros/m2), while the Centre recorded the lowest value (1,216 euros/m2). This was reported yesterday by the Statistics Office. Madeira showed the most significant year-on-year increase (13.5%), while the Algarve showed the only decrease (-0.1%) compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the case of houses, the price in July was 1,281 euros/m2, representing an increase of 8.2% compared to the same month in 2023. The highest values ​​were observed by INE in Greater Lisbon (2,419 euros/m2) and in the Algarve (2,343 euros/m2), while the Center and Alentejo recorded the lowest values ​​(1,000 euros/m2 and 1,023 euros/m2 respectively).
