A 35-year-old man was arrested by the Judicial Police in collaboration with the PSP of Portimão on suspicion of aggravated robbery and kidnapping last Saturday, the 24th, in Portimão.
The suspect worked with another man to arrange a meeting with two women in their room. The two men threatened the victims with sharp weapons, tied their wrists with clamps and taped their mouths shut, forcing them to stay in the bathroom.
While one watched the victims, the other went through all the rooms of the house and eventually stole a large sum of money and an electronic device.
As a result of investigations carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department of Portimão, relevant evidence was collected, culminating in the arrest of the suspect, whose investigation is still ongoing.
The detainee will be present at the first judicial interrogation for the purpose of applying coercive measures.
