The Secretary General of the PCP assured on Tuesday that between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris for the post of US President he will choose “neither one nor the other”, he will try to find a candidate who would respond to the problems of this country.
“I don’t have any difficulties. I even say: neither this nor that, neither that nor that. So for me it’s not a difficulty. Neither that nor that,” stressed Paulo Raimundo, answering a question about the candidates in the elections in North America, Republican Donald Trump or Democrat Kamala Harris, as well as about the answer of the parliamentary leader of the PSD, Hugo Soares, to the newspaper Expresso, in which he said that it would be “very difficult” for him to choose.
At the end of a visit with journalists to the Festa do Avante site in Seixal, Paulo Raimundo assured that if he were in the United States of America, he would be “committed to finding a candidate who would respond to the two fundamental problems” that the country faces: injustice and poverty.
“I needed a candidate who would defend these issues and a candidate who would be a supporter of peace. Neither of them provides an answer to these two fundamental questions that I have taken upon myself,” the communist leader defended.
Paulo Raimundo also said that he “will not vote empty,” recalling that there are more than two candidates in the United States and that “we don’t know them, but one day we will talk about them.”
The PCP leader added that it was impossible to solve North America’s problems by choosing the “least bad” candidate, and that the country’s problems were getting worse.
“I would look for a candidate who would be a supporter of peace, and not a tool at the service of large military companies, which is what is happening. This is what happened with the Trump mandate four years ago, this is what happened during the Biden mandate in the last four years,” added the PCP Secretary General.
In an interview with Expresso, Social Democrat leader Hugo Soares said it would be “very difficult” for him to choose between Harris and Trump in the next elections in North America.
