THAT CMTV will follow the draw for the league stage live, scheduled for this Thursday in Monaco at 17:00 (mainland Portugal time). Remember that this Champions League will no longer have groups, but a single league with all 36 participants. Each club will play eight games (four at home and four away) against two opponents from each pot.
The top eight will advance directly to the round of 16, while teams placed 9th to 24th will compete in a two-legged playoff to see who will also advance to the round of 16. Anyone finishing between 25th and 36th will be eliminated from European competition – there is no longer a “drop-out” in the Europa League.
