On Thursday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) confirmed that the General Secretariat building had been burgled early on Wednesday morning and that the attackers had climbed onto a neighbouring building where scaffolding had been erected.
In a statement sent to Lusa, the guardianship agency said that “some computers were stolen,” although it noted that “some of them have not yet been used as they are backup/spare.”
The same note mentions that the invasion of the building of the General Secretariat of the IAI on São Mamede Street in Lisbon took place “early in the morning of August 28” (Wednesday) and that it “was only possible through scaling the adjacent building, which is currently undergoing renovation work.”
