The body of Tiago Pereira, a 29-year-old PNP soldier missing after a helicopter crash in the Douro River, was found this Saturday afternoon by marine police and naval divers during an underwater search in the area where the plane crashed.
Firefighting helicopter with six people on board fell into the Douro River this Friday, Samodynes, Lamego. The plane was carrying five soldiers from the GNR’s Emergency Protection and Assistance Unit (UEPS) and sank. Five soldiers were killed. TO the pilot was rescued alive on a tourist ship with fractures of the lower limbs, authorities confirmed.

Pedro Manuel de Jesus Santos, who joined the NTC in 2006, Fabio Gil Salvador Pereira, a security guard since 2012, and Daniel Filipe Monteiro Pereira, who joined the NTC in 2010, were removed from the waters of the Douro lifeless.
Luis Rebelo, a 44-year-old civilian pilot, was the only survivor of the crash.
