PSD wants to hear Medina, Pedro Nuno Santos, Alexandra Reis and Neelman in the TAP investigation

Treasury Secretary Fernando Medina, former governors Pedro Nuno Santos and Alexandra Reis, businessman David Nieleman, and TAP CEO are some of the first names PSD wants to hear on the TAP investigation panel.

According to information provided to Lusa by an official source of the SDP, other names, including unions, associations, companies, will be on the list of persons to be heard within the framework of the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the political oversight of the leadership of the TAR. who work with the airline or current and former TAP legal, financial and human resources managers.

Fernando Medina and Pedro Nuno Santos, who resigned at the end of 2022 due to “the public perception and the collective feeling generated” by the TAP case and the compensation paid to Alexandra Reis, are among the names the PSD wants to hear joining in. governance issues, namely former Finance Minister Alexandra Reis and former Infrastructure Minister Hugo Mendez.

Entrepreneurs David Nieleman and Humberto Pedrosa and current TAP CEO Christine Urmier-Widener are also on the list, joined by current and former airline chairman Manuel Beja and Miguel Frasquillo, respectively.

PSD also wants to hear from former TAP CEO Antonoaldo Neves, current CFO Goncalo Pires and António de Macedo Vitorino, who resigned as chairman of the airline’s General Assembly this week.

Former secretary Miguel Cruz and current secretary of state for finance complete this first group of social democrat names.

On February 3, BE’s proposal to establish a 90-day TAP Political Administration Commission of Inquiry was approved in Parliament with PS and PCP abstaining and voting in favor of the rest of the parties.

The text, approved without votes against, establishes a parliamentary commission of inquiry “under the political control of the TAP leadership”, which, in particular, between 2020 and 2022 will focus on investigating the entry and exit of the former ruler Alexandra Reis and guardianship responsibilities in the decisions taken.

The parliamentary inquiry into TAP is being chaired by socialist Jorge Seguro Sánchez, whose first vice president will be SDP deputy Paulo Ríos de Oliveira and whose second vice president will be Chega Filipe Melo.
