“This successive journey and this renewed impulse of Block Eskerd bear the stamp of Katarina Martins. Her time as Bloc coordinator opened new paths, built the confidence of the people, she was the best speaker in turbulent times, and I am sure that now that she has decided to complete her mandate as Bloc coordinator, Katarina will continue to impress us with her consistency , with its strength, and we count on it in this,” Mariana Mortagua said at a press conference at which she presented her candidacy to the leadership of BE.
When asked by journalists about the future of Katarina Martins, the candidate for leadership stated that she could not be responsible for the party’s coordinator “in the decisions of her life”, which would have to be respected.
“What I can say – and I think I speak for all blockers – is that we look forward to it in the future, for all the BE features, for all the work that we have ahead of us,” he added.
According to the leader and deputy of the BS, the movement she represents is “aware of the place” where the party comes from.
“A year ago, the PS celebrated an absolute majority and the BS admitted an important defeat in the elections, but from this moment on, there are two certainties that combine: the first certainty is that the absolute majority of the PS does not deliver on what they promised,” he condemned.
Mariana Mortagua’s other confidence is that the reasons why the blockers went are “confirmed”.
“And today, precisely for the same reasons, we are growing along with the strength of the emerging mobilizations, those who do not submit to impoverishment and lies,” he stressed.
On February 14, Katarina Martins announced that she would leave the leadership of the party at the next bloc congress, expressing “absolute calm” at this press conference that there were people “with ability, strength and training” who would replace her in office. , waiting for the congress with “unity of decisions in the party.”
