CP workers started new strikes on Monday, with the carrier warning of “serious unrest” until Thursday to protest the stalemate in wage negotiations, which also involves Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP).

Speaking to Lusa on Tuesday morning, Antonio Salvado of the Independent Union of Railway, Infrastructure and Allied Workers (SINFA) said “joining the strike is complete” with only minimal services being performed.
“Today, in addition to railway, administrative, operational and maintenance personnel, employees of Infraestruturas de Portugal are also joining. Monday and Thursday,” he said.
