Everything we know about the death of Abby Choi, model found dismembered in Hong Kong

Chinese model Abby Choi, 28, was reported missing on February 21, 2022 in Hong Kong after she was last seen wearing white and a purple suitcase in the car of her personal chauffeur, ex-husband’s brother. Three days later, the model’s body was found dismembered in a refrigerator at a home in Tai Po on the outskirts of Hong Kong. An electric saw, a meat grinder and some clothing were also found near the body.

Authorities immediately arrested the model’s ex-husband, 28-year-old Alex Kwong, who was caught trying to escape the city by boat. In accordance with IndependentSubsequently, Kwong’s parents, Kwong Kau and Jenny Lee Suiheung, aged 65 and 63 respectively, and the older brother of the young woman’s former partner, Anthony Kwong, aged 31, were arrested.

The model married Alex Kwong in 2012 when she was 18 and the couple had two children. Although they divorced in 2016, the model maintained a close relationship with her ex-husband and family, so much so that Anthony Kwong, her ex-husband’s brother, was her personal driver. Abby Choi even bought a luxury apartment in upscale Kanduri Hill for her ex-husband, family, and the couple’s two children.

On February 26, two days after Abby’s body was found, authorities found her head and ribs in a pot of soup in an apartment that Kwong Kau, her ex-husband’s father, rented in mid-February.

Authorities also detained a 47-year-old woman named “Ms. Ng” for allegedly helping Kau rent an apartment. There was also found a purple suitcase, with which the model was last seen.

Hong Kong newspaperSouth China Morning Post indicates that the apartment did not appear to be inhabited and that the police, when they arrived at the scene, found it furnished for a butcher, with a meat grinder, an electric saw, two types of grinders, a hammer, safety shields. and black coats.

According to an English newspaper IndependentRelations between Abby Choi, Alex Kwong and the family began to sour last year when the model decided she wanted to sell the luxury apartment. Although the apartment was paid for by the model, it was in the name of her ex-husband’s father, who was not happy with the decision.

Abby Choi sought legal advice and was told that if she could prove she paid the rent, she would receive the appropriate cash value from the sale.

Authorities believe that this situation led the ex-husband and family to start developing a plan to get rid of Abby Choi.
