Alex, a Siberian husky that had been trapped under rubble for 23 days, was rescued this Wednesday by a rescue team in Hatay, one of the Turkish cities hardest hit by the February quakes. The first thing the dog did, as soon as he was pulled out from under the rubble, was to lick the face of his savior.
“It’s a real miracle that Alex survived in this hole for 22 days, didn’t eat or drink anything,” said one of the operatives quoted by the British newspaper. Daily mail.
Everything indicates that the animal was trapped after the collapse of a two-story building during the earthquake in Turkey on February 6. Rescuers heard his groans and later rescued him. The operation to extract the dog from the hole took about two hours.
After the operatives petted the dog, it was taken to the hospital for necessary care. On several videos posted on social networks, you can see the excitement that everyone is experiencing.

Despite the time spent without food, Alex’s condition is stable. He had just lost weight and was weak, according to the Turkish press.
However, Alex was handed over to the Owner, who accompanied the rescue effort and thanked the operators for their work and efforts.
Earthquakes measuring 7.8 and 7.5 that rocked Turkey and Syria in early February killed nearly 50,000 people. Given the number of deaths, injuries and a pronounced trail of destruction, they were considered the largest earthquakes in the last century in both countries.
