Former health minister Marta Temido said this Saturday that she was leaving the government “without bitterness in her mouth”, thanked the Portuguese and their prime minister, and added that she would take over as deputy to the Assembly of the Republic.
Marta Temido spoke to reporters at the Belém Palace in Lisbon after the inauguration of the new Minister of Health, Manuel Pizarro, which she attended and was greeted by the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister.
“Fortunately, I don’t have bitterness in my mouth. We all have darker marks in the heart, but I don’t have bitterness in my mouth,” she replied after being asked about some of the criticism she received in the last few months of her position.
Temido expressed gratitude, including to Prime Minister António Costa and the Portuguese.
“Leave words of gratitude to the Portuguese, from whom I have always felt great affection, the media, which often allowed this connection, my Prime Minister, who has always supported me, my colleagues in the government, the heads of the service of the Ministry of Health”, enumerated.
Marta Temido, who was the head of the PS for the Coimbra circle in the January legislative elections, announced that she would take up her duties as deputy to the Assembly of the Republic.
“It is with great pride and honor that I will assume the duties of a deputy from my district and, therefore, I will continue to work. I don’t trust anyone who says he’s non-political. means public choice,” he concluded.
