SDP President Luis Montenegro said this Saturday that it is the country that is in a hurry to change the government, not his party, believing that it is necessary to “turn the page” on Portugal’s impoverishment.
“We are not in a hurry to go into government, although the country is in a hurry to change government, we respect the rules of democracy, but I want you to know that we are ready to govern Portugal and we are going to prepare ourselves every day even more so that we can respond exactly to the problems that are growing, more serious that PS will leave us,” he said.
Luis Montenegro, who spoke in the village of Vale de Cavalos, in the rural parish of Alegrete, in the municipality of Portalegre, during a festive dinner with activists and supporters of the SDP integrated in the days of “Building an Alternative”, also defended that the party would “turn the page” of impoverishment in Portugal, but for this “it is necessary to change” the government.
