Most teachers are in favor of strikes for grades and new shutdowns by the districts, unless there is an agreement between the unions and the Ministry of Education.
More than 70% of teachers surveyed are in favor of a new county strike, a grades strike and a new demonstration, Fenprof general secretary Mario Nogueira said Tuesday during a press conference attended by nine trade union structures. the survey, which ran from February 24 to March 1.
“61,000 people” took part in the survey, but only 32,000 complete responses were counted because many teachers filled out only part of the questionnaire, he explained.
While these are the main forms of struggle advocated by teachers with a membership of “over 70%”, the trade union platform stressed that it would only announce possible actions at the end of a meeting with the Ministry of Education scheduled for Thursday to discuss. a new recruitment and placement model for teachers.
“We have already determined a preliminary plan, but we do not want the Ministry of Education not to put forward their proposals at the meeting on the 9th, because the unions have already arrived there with a plan of struggle and with the scheduled dates,” explained Mario Nogueira.
