The IL president said this Wednesday that it was PSD that failed to comply with the Azores agreement and that the decision to terminate it was the result of an “accumulation of situations”, committing itself to “make viable the good proposals” presented by .
Rui Rocha spoke to reporters about the lost steps of the Assembly of the Republic after the IL deputy in the Parliament of the Azores announced this Wednesday that he had violated the parliamentary protection agreement he had with the PSD.
“The accumulation of situations of non-compliance with what is the fundamental basis of this agreement leads the Liberal Initiative to understand that it is time to formalize the termination of this agreement,” the party leader accused.
For Rui Rocha, however, “this does not necessarily mean the absence of a political solution” in the Azores, ensuring that the liberals evaluate each of the legislative proposals presented, as well as the budget.
“Faced with this new situation, we are going to review each of the proposals and the budget, and if they have benefited the Azoreans, the Liberal Initiative will be here to make the good proposals presented viable,” he assured.
The party leader made it clear that IL “does not enter into any understanding with the PS or decisions related to the PS.”
Following this statement by the Liberal MP, the independent Azores MP (former Chega) also violated the Parliamentary Protection Agreement with the Government of the Azores (PSD/CDS-PP/PPM).
Following these statements, the Prime Minister of the Azores pledged to become a “benchmark for stability”.
