The FPF has released all the names of the technical team of Roberto Martinez in the national team. According to Record, Ricardo Carvalho, former center, and Ricardo Pereira, former goalkeeper, are on the list. Moreover, our newspaper has already reported that Jesús Seba, Richard Evans, Iñaki Bergara and Bruno Pereira will form the technical team.
What’s new is the presence of Anthony Barry, an assistant at Chelsea, a position that he will combine with that of an assistant with the national team, similar to what he has already done at Rep. Ireland and Belgium.
Full technical team:
– Ricardo Carvalho, 44, former Portugal international, 2016 European champion, assisted André Villas-Boas at the Olympique de Marseille. He will also be the assistant coach of the national team.
– Jesús Ceba, 48, Spanish national football player (Chávez and Belenenses), accompanied Roberto Martínez on the technical teams of Wigan, Everton and Belgium. He will head the Surveillance Department.
– Richard Evans, 54, with a degree in Sports Science and Physical Therapy, held senior roles in these areas at Swansea and Wigan before taking charge of Everton’s sports department. The Welshman was part of Martinez’s headquarters in Belgium. He is now back as assistant to the new national coach and is leading the “performance” area of the national team.
– Anthony Barry, 36, English, assistant manager at Chelsea who had a similar role with the Ireland national teams and later in Belgium, where he had already worked with Martinez. He will have a similar status in the Portuguese national team.
– Ricardo Pereira, 47, former goalkeeper for Portugal, scored at Euro 2004 and at the 2006 World Cup. He is already working in the FPF as a national youth coach. He will take on the role of goalkeeping coach.
– Iñaki Bergara, 61, Product At. Bilbao, he defended for major Basque clubs in the 60s and 70s. He has accompanied Martínez since his time at Swansea, working successively in Wigan, Everton, Belgium and now Portugal in specialist goalkeeping training.
– Bruno Pereira, 44, coordinator of the FPF surveillance, analysis and intelligence department, has been with the A national team since August 2009. He now works with Martinez in the Analysis and Innovation department.
– Stein Campo, 31, Belgian, graduate of Physical Education and Sports, worked as a video analyst in Leuven and for four years in the Belgian Federation, where he worked with Martinez. At FPF, he joins the Analysis and Innovation department.
