The deadline for taxpayers to appeal the amounts calculated by the Office of Revenue and Customs (AT) for general household expenses starts this Thursday and runs until the end of this month.
After checking and validating invoices for expenses incurred in February, in February, taxpayers can now check the amounts determined by the AT for the purpose of deducting the IRS fee and claim, if applicable, for so-called family overheads.
This expense category entitles each taxpayer to a €250 IRS fee deduction, including expenses related to water, electricity, telecommunications and most groceries purchased from supermarkets, for example, or purchases of fuel, clothing or home appliances, among many others.
The deadline for conducting this review and filing any complaints ends on March 31st.
The end of March of this month is also the deadline for choosing an organization to which you can transfer a portion of your IRS or “rebate” on tax earned by claiming an invoice in sectors such as restaurants, hairdressers, veterinarians, or auto repair shops. cars and motorcycles.
If you don’t, the taxpayer will still be able to contribute that installment when filing an annual IRS return.
Unlike what happens with the deduction for general family expenses, taxpayers cannot claim the amount calculated for deductions related to healthcare, education, housing, or real estate expenses.
However, and if they do not agree with the values calculated by AT (which they can consult on their personal page on the Financial Portal), taxpayers can make corrections they deem necessary when filling out the IRS return.
It should be noted that in this situation they must keep the relevant invoices for four years.
IRS Annual Income Filing for 2022 starts April 1st and ends June 30th, and for many thousands of taxpayers, the process is reduced to a few minutes for IRS Automatic to verify and validate.
