The GNR statement said the 20-year-old suspect, who has been charged with being an accessory to four thefts and four thefts on the afternoon of March 7 in Olhão, Tavira and San Bras de Alportel, will be awaiting trial. in preventive detention, a coercive measure determined by the Court of Faro.

According to the GNR, this suspect managed to “avoid police action”, resulting in the initial arrest last week of two other suspects, a 20-year-old man who is also in pre-trial detention and a 22-year-old woman who is free but is required to go to the police station where you live.

“The modus operandi of the suspects was violent actions against elderly, especially vulnerable people, residents of remote areas, and in one of the robberies, one of the victims was seriously injured and is still in hospital,” the report says. security forces.

Meanwhile, PSP said it had detained an 18-year-old young man in Portimão who was charged with robbery and aggravated theft following an investigation in recent months that established the suspect’s involvement in several recent crimes. in Portimao. , namely two robberies on public roads and two thefts in garages.

The PSP said in a statement that after collecting “evidence confirming that the suspect was the perpetrator of the four crimes mentioned, the Portimão State Ministry issued arrest warrants outside the crime scene” in order to attend the first forensic examination.

According to the same note, arrest warrants were executed on Thursday, and the detainee was present this Friday before a criminal judge, who was ordered to apply preventive measures in the form of detention.
