CP said it would “speed up processes” in the train bar solution.

The CP president promised this Monday to ban workers that he would “speed up processes for social reasons” to resolve their situation at a meeting in Porto, Fesacht said in a statement.

“Railway rod workers on duty in Campania and in combat for 20 days” went to the CP, at the São Bento train station, in Porto, and met “with the chairman of the board of directors” of the operator, “who undertook to expedite the processes for social reasons, in order to quickly resolve the situation of 130 workers,” the same note says.

There will be a streamlining of the concession procedure on the table, and last week CP said it had begun legal proceedings to launch a new tender for the maintenance of rods on long-distance trains after moving ahead with a resolution contract with Apeadeiro 2020.

Fesaht’s Francisco Figueiredo said the CP president said the tender would be “fast,” having already asked the trustee for permission to proceed with the process.

Workers are now awaiting the outcome of a meeting to be held on March 24 at the Labor Ministry in Porto, Fesacht said.

“CP has always fulfilled its obligations by paying the agreed amounts to the concessionaire Apeadeiro 2020 on time,” the carrier assured in a statement dated March 17, stressing that despite this, “the services provided by the concessionaire have been deteriorating over the past few months with a lack of food, food and drink.”

The carrier said it had warned the concessionaire “several times” about “failures in the provision of services requiring compliance with specifications.”

“Unfortunately, the situation was not resolved by suspending the dining room and bar on the Alfa Pendular and Intercidades trains to the detriment of CP and its customers,” he lamented.

The carrier also stated that “in view of the performance of the contract, including the settlement of amounts due, CP does not understand the reasons why the concessionaire does not fulfill its obligations to its employees, leaving more than a hundred families in distress. situation of uncertainty.

CP acknowledged that the position of workers at Apeadeiro 2020 is “delicate, especially with regard to overdue wages, and while this is not part of its responsibility,” the operator is “concerned about these workers and has made every effort to ensure their rights are respected.” protected.”

However, he added, after several meetings, “the concessionaire company has not come up with any credible solution to provide services under the contract with CP and to settle wage arrears to its employees,” the railroad operator said.

“For this reason, CP has moved forward with the decision, with immediate effect, of the contract regarding the operation of the cafeteria and bar on board the Alfa Pendular and Intercidades trains”, having already started “legal procedures with the aim of issuing a new international public tender as a matter of urgency.”

The carrier said it “ensures that with the hiring of a new bar concessionaire on long-distance trains, Apeadeiro 2020 workers can keep their jobs.”

Work in the bars of the SR is still suspended, and the workers went on strike on 1 March without receiving their wages.
