Infrastructure Minister Pedro Nuno Santos said on Monday that the government will evaluate extending the price brake to new leases.
The position of Pedro Nuno Santos was set out during a hearing at the Budgetary and Finance Commission in Parliament as part of the specialty debate on the state budget proposal for 2023, when he was asked by the leader of the PCP bench, Paula Santos, about possible measures to stop price increases and respond to increase in non-renewal of contracts.
“We are going to evaluate the brake extension on new contracts based on the prices of previous contracts. We are going to make this assessment because, obviously, this is an issue that worries us,” the minister said.
