Chega President Andre Ventura announced on Monday that the party will file a people’s lawsuit against the state in the Supreme Administrative Court regarding compensation paid by TAP to workers.
“Chega will hold the government and the Portuguese state accountable through a people’s lawsuit that we will file to hold accountable all those who left the country in the case of TAP, paying absolutely illegal and immoral compensation,” said André Ventura.
At a press conference, President Chegi indicated that his party “will file a people’s claim with the Supreme Administrative Court in accordance with the provisions of Article 52, number 3, of the Constitution, which provides that some associations may, in some cases, agree to justice in order to ensure the protection of state assets, when they are under threat.”
Leader Chegi also indicated that the purpose of this action, which will be carried out “before the end of the week,” is to “return the illegal amounts that this TAP administration has paid” and, “if necessary, to detain the Government and the State is responsible for the mismanagement , mismanagement and pernicious complicity of the TAP leadership.”
