The corpse of a 78-year-old man who lived alone in Mirandela was discovered today in a severely decomposed state, indicating that death occurred some time ago, according to a firefighters source.
The corporation of this city in the Bragança area was alerted around 10:00 am by the landlord of the house where the victim lived, who was surprised by the lack of a response from him, who had not been seen in the neighborhood for several months.
Firefighters drove to the address in Golfeiras, accompanied by a PSP, and entered the house, where they found a corpse “in an advanced stage of decomposition.”
According to the authorities, there are no signs of a crime, but the body was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy and determination of the cause of death.
