Enough wants to hear Medina and Mariana Vieira da Silva in parliament about the women of Galamba

Chega asked this Wednesday to hear the finance ministers and the president following the news that the minister’s wife, João Galamba, is coordinating a department in the finance ministry, whose name is not mentioned in the Diário da República.

This Wednesday, the party published a request (dated Tuesday) addressed to the parliamentary budget and finance committee asking for an “urgent hearing” on ministers Fernando Medina and Mariana Vieira da Silva.

“Even if there is no appointment, it is important to know on what grounds an agreement was signed on the transfer of public interest with Dr. Laura Abreu Cravo, and not with another person connected with the public administration, who could be appointed to these functions, which was entrusted to him by the coordinators functions and under what conditions and why the Government did not resort to appointing a replacement for him, as happens in a number of other situations,” Chega insists.

The party also cites that “even if publication in the Diário da República were not mandatory, since no appointment is required, the prior positive opinion of the members of the government responsible for finance and public administration would always be necessary.”

We are talking about the news broadcast by TVI on Monday that Laura Abreu Cravo, wife of the current Minister of Infrastructure João Galamba, has been coordinating the Department of Financial Services in the Ministry of Finance, headed by Fernando Medina, for a year, although the appointment has never been published in Diário da República.

The issue was raised on Tuesday by members of Chegi and the PSD at a hearing with the finance minister in parliament.

Medina indicated that Laura Cravó was not named to Diário da República because she works for the Planning, Strategy, Evaluation and International Relations (GPEARI) Directorate of the Ministry of Finance within Public Mobility, as she is a member of the Portuguese Market Commission. Securities Market (CMVM) not designated by the Government.

In response to TVI, the Ministry of Finance mentioned that Laura Abreu Cravo is an officer of CMVM and works for GPEARI under a Public Interest Assignment Agreement.
