According to data sent by the company to Lusa, CP blocked 184 trains out of 1,090 scheduled from 00:00 to 19:00 on Friday, most of which were urban, due to a workers’ strike.
According to CP – Comboios de Portugal, 906 trains ran during this period, with a suppression rate of 16.9%.
The urban areas of Lisbon and Porto were hit the hardest by the strike, with 81 of the 520 planned (in the case of Lisbon) cancelled, while in Porto 23 of the 271 planned were not held.
With regard to urban projects in Coimbra, 24 of the 28 planned have been implemented.
For long-distance trains, the KP data show that 11 out of 66 scheduled flights were not performed.
In the regional service, out of the 259 provided for, 65 were suppressed – this is the service in which the highest level of suppression was recorded (25.1%).
After several days of strike from 00:00 to 02:00 and a whole day last Thursday until April 30, the strike at the IP and KP will be from the eighth hour of work.

The National Union of Drivers of Portuguese Railways (SMAQ) is also on strike throughout April, given the “snub” it accuses the company of.
Workers’ demands include “efficient wage increases”, “traction career evaluation”, and improved working conditions in driver’s cabs and social facilities, as well as safety conditions on lines and in parks to protect automotive material. .
There is still demand for “humanization of duty lists, established meal times and reduction of rest time outside headquarters”, “an effective protocol for psychological support of drivers in case of people getting stuck on the way and accidents” and “recognition and assessment of professional requirements and training of drivers by a new legislative framework” .
