Twelve people were arrested, three of them for drug trafficking, in a special crime prevention operation that took place this weekend in the center of Porto, the PSP Metropolitan Command announced this Sunday.
PSP Porto said in a statement that three of the arrests were related to drug trafficking, two were for robbery using the “stretching” technique, and two were for driving under the influence of alcohol.
In addition, two detainees were made for insulting, threatening and coercing law enforcement officers, one for vehicle theft and drunk driving, another for driving without a license, and the last for possession of a prohibited weapon.
This Porto PSP operation was aimed at “preventing and combating crime in order to promote public safety, order and tranquility, and to strengthen the sense of security of citizens” in the center of Porto.
In addition to the arrests, the PSP allocates the confiscation of a stolen car, hashish and marijuana in quantities sufficient for approximately 36 and 10 individual doses respectively, three razors, a purse that was taken from the victim, and 90 euros in cash.
Without specifying the date, the PSP command in the capital concludes that the detainees will be present with the judicial authorities.
