Speaking to reporters in the Assembly of the Republic after the solemn commemorative session marking the 49th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, Raimundo said that he took three ideas from Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa’s speech, starting with highlighting the head of state’s statement that “April is alive.”

Finally, the communist leader also pointed out that Marcelo warned that “governments and prime ministers alternate and, in fact, the basic law is not respected.”
“It is in Abril and in his values that the answer to the challenges we face lies. Therefore, it is necessary that Abril be implemented and, in particular, what is the basic law, namely what it enshrined, from the right to equality, to access to housing, health, dignity, higher wages. This is something that remains to be done,” he stressed.
