The program for the acquisition of handheld cameras for personal use by police officers will be unveiled this Thursday, with the government expecting to acquire around 10,000 “body cameras” in stages up to 2026, with an investment of five million euros.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD), the program to purchase portable cameras for individual use by security forces will consist of two stages, and the purchase of “body cameras” will occur only after the completion of an open tender launched this year. week to purchase the Unified Video Security Platform.
This platform will have as a requirement the ability to centrally manage all types of equipment related to video surveillance equipment, namely “television cameras” and municipal video surveillance systems, as well as connection to remote systems installed in nightclubs or advertising centers.
