Regarding the accusation of the PSD of opportunism towards the government, João Torres ensures that “the PS does not become a victim because it is the standard of stability in our country.” But the MP went further and highlighted Luis Montenegro’s inability and disorientation to present himself as an “alternative”.
The Deputy Secretary General of the PS says that the relationship between António Costa and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa “should not be permanently regulated by agreement” and explains that under a democratic regime “it is important that everyone respects the decisions of every agent. It is in the logic of mutual respect that a mature and solid democracy.”
“What we saw on Tuesday was the normal functioning of democratic institutions,” he added.
