Infrastructure Minister Joao Galamba this Thursday “resumed” the activities of the public government, participation in the Council of Ministers, which is taking place in Braga, but refused to make any statements to journalists.
Galamba launched his first public initiative since his resignation on Tuesday, which the prime minister did not accept.
Despite the insistence of journalists, Galamba refused to make any statements.
In recent days, Joao Galamba has been involved in a controversy with his former deputy, Frederico Pinheiro, who was fired a week ago on the basis of information they have to send to the parliamentary committee to investigate the political tutelage of the TAP leadership.
The case concerned Federico Pineiro’s allegations of physical assault at the Ministry of Infrastructure and the theft of a laptop with classified information after he had been fired.
The controversy intensified when the Information and Security Services (SIS) intervened in the recovery of this computer.
On Tuesday, Joao Galamba resigned, but the prime minister did not comply with the request, deciding to keep him in government.
On the same day, the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, expressed his disagreement with the decision of António Costa.
Today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers, which is taking place in the Tibaesh Monastery, is attended by all the ministers, who were met with protests led by several dozen demonstrators associated with various sectors who demanded higher wages and career advancement.
In a noisy protest organized by the Union of Unions of Braga (USB), those present used megaphones and horns, shouted slogans and waved posters and flags of Portugal and Fenprof.
