Updated CoolJazz expects 45,000 people

The news was revealed this Thursday at a press conference at the Parque Marechal Carmona in Cascais, one of the three venues that will host the event from 8 to 29 July (the others being Manuel Possolo Hippodrome and Casa das Histórias Paula Rego).

With an “investment of two million euros,” the organization’s Carla Campos told Correio da Manhã, the festival expects to host “between 43,000 and 45,000 people” this year.

Major names on the show include Lionel Richie (8th), Van Morrison (22nd), Ben Harper (26th) and Norah Jones (29th). “This is a special year for the festival, which represents a new image,” says Carla Campos, emphasizing the “strong commitment” that will be made “in the area of ​​sustainability and recycling.”

The event also partnered with the zero waste movement to “collect all leftover food and send it to families in need of food.”
