This Saturday, Portuguese canoeist Fernando Pimenta won silver in K1 1000m at the 1st World Cup in Szeged, Hungary, his second medal in this sprint canoe event and fourth for Portugal.
Pimenta, who had already won gold in the K-1 500 meters on Friday, finished the K-1 1000 meters final this Saturday in second place with a time of 03:34.67 minutes, behind Hungarian Adam Varga who was gold, while Balint Kopas, also from Hungary, finished the podium in third place.
This is the fourth medal won by Portugal in the competition: the silver of Hélder Silva in C1 200m and the gold of paracanoist Norberto Murão in VL2 200m joined the two medals won by Fernando Pimenta.
