The pregnant woman was taken to the hospital and then sent home, where she gave birth to a child in Torres Vedras.

A pregnant woman at 37 weeks gave birth at her home, in the municipality of Torres Vedras, after driving about a hundred kilometers back and forth to the Caldas da Rainha Centro Hospitalar do Oeste (CHO), the health facility where she was examined, but as there were no regular contractions, she was again sent home, where she was due to give birth about three hours later.

According to the CHO board of directors, the woman “was seen at 2:16 a.m. and kept under observation until 3:20 a.m.,” but “because she was not in active labor, she was discharged and instructed to return if complaints worsened.”

After the birth, the mother and child returned to the PHC, where they are “in good health.”
