Two members of the Porto Chamber detained during Operation Babylon were released by a criminal judge. Ricardo Magalhães, one of the defendants, had to file charges daily and pay bail of 20,000 euros.
He is also suspended from his duties as a justice of the peace, and he is forbidden to contact other participants in the process. Another defendant, who worked in the field of urban planning, is also suspended from duty and is subject to presentation to the authorities. They are accused of abuse of power and corruption.
No coercive action is yet known about the other five detainees in the main case, among whom Patrosinio Azevedo, Vice President of the House of Gaia, is among the defendants.
