Jorge Ribeiro admits that “due to the distance, one cannot be calm”, stressing that one of the risks is “fetal death due to delayed medical care.” “Adverse outcomes are expected to be zero.” From 1 June until the end of October, the service at the Caldas da Rainha Hospital will be closed for work deemed “essential”. The CHO encourages pregnant women to call Saúde 24 or 112 when they feel they need to be transferred for delivery.
