A 32-year-old man was detained by the GNR on suspicion of drug trafficking, with the military seizing more than 4,100 doses of various types of drugs in the municipality of Crato (Portalegre), as announced this Wednesday.
The GNR territorial command in Portalegre said in a statement that the arrest occurred on Wednesday, when the military seized 886 doses of cocaine, 2430 doses of amphetamines, 800 doses of MDMA, 137 brands of LSD, 14 doses of hemp leaves and 458 doses. euro cash.
Also, according to the GNR, the detention took place as part of a special operation to prevent and combat crime, while the guards approached the car in which one of the passengers behaved “suspiciously”.
Convinced that the suspect retained “some nervousness”, a body search and search of the vehicle was carried out, during which it was found that one of the passengers was carrying a large amount of drugs in his luggage, the GNR points out.
The detainee was present at the Portalegre court, which applied the most serious measure of restraint to him in the form of pre-trial detention.
