The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, announced this Wednesday a decree abolishing the obligation to use a couplet on the windshield of a car. The amendment enters into force upon publication in the Diário da República.
The proposal, which was the result of a bill introduced by the Liberal Initiative, was approved by Parliament on June 2 with votes in favor of PS, PCP, BE and IL. The SDP abstained, while Chega voted against.
