On Monday, Judge Carlos Alexandre ruled that Armando Pereira and Hernani Vas Antunes are under house arrest.
This Monday, the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) demanded the preventive detention of Ernani Vas Antunes, believing that there is a risk of absconding and disrupting the investigation. As for millionaire friend Armando Pereira, the MP asked for house arrest, which can be converted into a guarantee of 10 million euros.
Two other defendants in the case, Ernani Vas Antunes’ daughter Jessica Antunes and economist António Loureiro, were released. However, they are subject to a deposit of EUR 500,000 and EUR 250,000 respectively at the request of the MP.
