The Paris Organizing Committee unveiled the draft Olympic flame for the 2024 Olympics on Tuesday.
Designer Matthieu Leanner, responsible for the design, said, quoted by the portal globoesporte, that the object has three pillars: Paris, equality and peace.
Leanner explains that equality is seen in the symmetry of the layout, Paris in the design of the waters of the Seine and the world, since the torch was considered a symbol of brotherhood.
On Instagram, the organizers of the contest posted a video showing the similarity of the torch to the Eiffel Tower. “It will carry the Olympic and Paralympic flames throughout France,” reads the description of the publication.
The work of the designer responsible for the torch has been exhibited at the MOMA in New York or at the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris. He was responsible for the design of several churches and chapels in France.
Before arriving in Paris, the Olympic flame will pass over 400 French cities in 68 days. The torch will be lit in April in Greece.
After traveling through the Greek country, he leaves Athens on April 27 aboard a ship called the Bethlehem. This vessel was first used at the first modern Olympic Games in 1896.
