The President of the Republic this Friday released a note explaining the award given to Volodymyr Zelensky. “As he mentioned more than a year ago, the President of the Republic decided to award President Zelensky with the Great Collar of the Order of Freedom,” read a note published this Friday on the President’s website.
“The badges were awarded this week in Kyiv as a protocol, and not during a public overlay ceremony,” the note added. The President of the Republic also explains that this is “a formula that is also common in state visits” and highlights the fact that Zelensky pays tribute to the struggle of the Ukrainian people.
