Lula criticized the UN Security Council, which “propagates war instead of peace”

The Brazilian President this Saturday criticized the current configuration of the UN Security Council, believing that this body, instead of promoting world security and tranquility, “propagates war without talking to anyone”, defending reforms.

“We need to change the UN Security Council, this is very important, in the eight years that I was president, I spoke with Tony Blair, I spoke with Gordon Brown, I spoke with Angela Merkel, I spoke with Bush, I spoke with Obama, with Sarkozy. That is, with Chirac, he spoke to the whole world about the need for a new Security Council,” Lula da Silva said in Luanda.

According to the President of Brazil, speaking this Saturday at a press conference on the occasion of his state visit to Angola, the current format of the UN Security Council “no longer meets the goals for which it was created.”
