Brazil is set to establish a consulate general in Luanda, the first in a Portuguese-speaking African country, to further strengthen relations with Angola, home to nearly 30,000 Brazilians, Brazilian President Lula da Silva said this Saturday.
“Angola, home to some 30,000 Brazilians, is already home to our largest community in the entire African continent, which is why I have instructed Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira to explore the possibility of opening a consulate general in Luanda, which will be the first time in a Portuguese-speaking country in Africa,” – he said.
The Brazilian head of state, speaking at the Instituto Guimarães Rosa (IGR) in Luanda, where the Ovidio de Andrade Melo Gallery opened this Saturday, also said that in 2025 Luanda and El Salvador will hold a conference of intellectuals. within 50 years of bilateral relations.
