On Tuesday, Sporting were disappointed that the Arbitration Board (CA) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) did not make mistakes in the meeting between Rio Ave and Porto in the third round of the I league.
“It is with disappointment that Sporting Clube de Portugal note the absence of reports from the CA regarding the blunders of the refereeing team that officiated the game between Rio Ave and Porto,” the Leoins said in a statement.
In a note, Sporting, without listing what the errors were, believes that “both refereeing teams were blatantly wrong, both on and off the field, in clearly harming Rio Ava and favoring Porto.”
Sporting recalls the assumption of a mistake made by the AS FPF during Sporting’s victory over Casa Pia, when the video referee (VAR) incorrectly placed the offside lines, erroneously recording the first goal of the Lions.
From the Lisbon club “it would be expected that […] The board came to admit mistakes, regret what happened and take action”, “but in this case they simply chose not to do anything.”
“The line of magnitude of error is measured by evidence of the same and the impact it has. The consequences of a technical error or a gross error of misjudgment are the same for sports truth, ”says the club.
The Lions also believe that “errors of inaction, especially on the part of VAR, are as serious or more serious than errors of action”, “as well as the errors of the AC, which failed to intervene quickly by deciding to ‘blow down’ the party”.
