Former US President Donald Trump solidified his lead in the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination by more than 30 points ahead of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to a CNN poll released Tuesday.
According to the poll, 52% of Republican voters said they would support Trump in the party’s nomination, compared to 18% who said they would support DeSantis. In the latest poll conducted by the same news channel from June 13 to 17, these two candidates received 47% and 26% of the vote, respectively.
The rest of the Republican candidates did not exceed 10% in this poll, conducted from August 25 to 31, or in the previous one.
