“Since this seems important for the correct solution of the case, it is decided to carry out a collegial examination in the neurological specialty of the defendant Ricardo Salgado (…), which will be carried out by the Institute of Forensic Medicine”, can be read in the decision of Judge Ana Paula Rosa, to which Lusa had access .
The magistrate at the Lisbon Central Criminal Court also asked the Institute of Forensic Medicine to order an examination “with the utmost urgency.”
Ricardo Salgado’s defense also asked for the trial to begin only after a neurological examination had been carried out, but the court rejected the request of lawyers Francisco Proenza de Carvalho and Adriano Squilace, “since it was understood that the examination was not absolutely necessary.” at the beginning of the trial,” which was scheduled for October 3.
